Our Healthy Homes team offer a fresh pair of eyes on your home environment and have the knowledge of what's available to make moving around your home easier. It's fairly easy for clutter to build up and to simply 'make do' with those small difficulties which leaves us struggling at home.

While many older people are able to manage at home, our home visits aim to make a real difference to your day to day life, as well as reducing the risk of injury. A cluttered unconsidered home can not only lead to a serious fall, but can also be emotionally distressing and depressing.

Care Network's Healthy Homes Officer can come to visit you to carry out a free home safety check to help you to prevent accidents such as falls, burns and scalds so that you remain safe. Visits are tailored to what you want and need.

We reduce slips, trips, falls as well as other accidents at home by;

  • identifying and removing trip hazards
  • advising on general repairs
  • arranging minor aids to help you move around your home with greater ease

General home improvements like handrails and other simple aids and adaptations will help you to live happier, safer and more independent lives and will support you to be able to carry out basic daily tasks easily and safely.
