Mental health crisis

If you feel worried about your mental health, and are considering taking your own life, you should talk to someone. You can call your GP surgery and arrange to speak to someone immediately, or alternatively the following organisations can help

  • Samaritans: 116 123 - completely confidential emotional support 24 hours a day
  • NHS Mental Health Crisis Team: 01254 226 074 - 24 hours seven days a week
  • NHS Mental Health Helpline: 0800 915 4640 - open 7pm - 11pm Monday - Friday, 12 noon to 12 midnight Saturday and Sunday 
  • Suicide Prevention Hope Line: 0800 068 4141 - young people under the age of 35 who may be having thoughts of suicide or anyone concerned a young person may be having thoughts of suicide. 

Utility emergencies 

  • Gas emergency services: 0800 111 999 - if you smell gas, think you have a gas leak or have any concerns regarding carbon monoxide, immediately open all windows and doors and extinguish any naked flames including cigarettes, then call the Gas Emergency Services.
  • Power cuts: 105 - to report or get information about power cuts in your local area or if you spot damage to electricity power lines and substations that could put you, or someone else, in danger. 
  • Water and wastewater queries & emergencies: 0345 672 3723 - for burst pipes, blocked drains or sewers or if you are worried about the colour of your tap water or your water pressure.
