How will I know how much the job costs?

You will be provided with a free, written, no obligation quote by the provider so you know how much the job is going to cost before you decide to go ahead with the work.  This is something all our providers sign up to in the code of conduct when they sign up to the Safe Trader Scheme.

If you are a charity, does this mean I will get the job done for free?

No, all work carried out must be paid for. We continually check the traders prices. You can expect to pay the going rate for the job and you will not be overcharged for the work.

Who can use the Safe Trader Scheme?

Care Network's Safe Trader Scheme is available to people living in Blackburn with Darwen. People eligible to use this service include;

  • People with a disability
  • People with learning difficulties
  • Those with mental health needs
  • Anyone aged 50+
  • Carers

Do I have to go with the provider you send to me?

  • You are free to get other quotes from traders who aren't registered with Care Network, and choose whichever trader you feel happiest with.
  • None of our providers will cold call you or harass you to have the work carried out.

What happens if I am not satisfied with the work carried out?

  • we appreciate that from time to time things do go wrong.
  • If you are not completely happy with the work carried out by one of our traders, contact us
  • we will raise your concerns with the provider and try to resolve the issue
  • further information can be found in our complaints, comments and compliments procedure or complete the online form here

I was scared about ringing, but you have been so kind and understanding, I am really glad I did. You have a lovely telephone manner - a lot of people are short with me because I sometimes need a little more time.
