There are many reasons why people experience memory issues and for anyone who is having problems or is concerned about their memory, or cares for someone who is, we can offer advice and support to help keep you safe and independent at home.

Our Memory Matters service is available to residents in Blackburn with Darwen who are living with any form of memory loss, including dementia, at any stage, even before diagnosis.

How Can We Help?

We will work with you, your family and carers to make sure that you that you have access to all the support and services that are available. We understand that everyone’s needs are different and uinque, but as a guide, here a some of the things we can help to support you with:

  • Providing a general home safety assessment
  • Support in identifying simple solutions to help with day to day tasks, visual and orientation problems or safety risks
  • Providing free, small aids and equipment to help around the home
  • Putting you in touch with services and organisations who offer advice and support, such as blue badges for disabled parking, benefit advice, lasting power of attorney, emergency plans and fire safety
