We are dementia friends

The whole Care Network staff team and our team of safe traders are all dementia friends, this means that we have all learnt a little bit about what it's like to live with dementia and the small ways we can help, from telling others about the benefits of becoming a Dementia Friends to visiting someone we know living with dementia and much more.

Dementia Action Alliance

Care Network is a member of Blackburn with Darwen Dementia Action Alliance. We are a group of people who are working together to create a Dementia Friendly Community. We are focusing on what we can all do to improve inclusion and quality of life for people with dementia, including making daily living and activities easier and more accessible to people living with dementia. The initiative is in response to the Prime Minister's Challenge on Dementia 2020.

Dementia Friendly Cinema Screenings

Dementia Friendly screenings aim to make cinema more accessible to local dementia communities by providing a fun and inclusive experience to enable people living with dementia, their families and carers to attend the cinema in a safe and welcoming environment.

After four successful film screenings, the dementia action alliance are actively looking for more funding to be able to continue to run these events - for more information please contact Age UK Blackburn with Darwen on 01254 266620
