We are thrilled to welcome back Stephanie, fresh off the back of her epic 96.5 miles West Highland Way fundraiser for Care Network! She managed to complete the trek in just 8 days, smiling through wind, rain and sunshine as she went! 

  
Stephanie has worked at Care Network for 14 years, seeing first-hand the positive impact our work can have on improving local people’s lives, which is what inspired her try this challenge. 

“I wanted to try something new that combined my love of walking with our work in BwD, and a means of inspiring local people to get out and about. What better way to do that than by taking on a challenge for our charity and reaching out to inspire our community?”

This stunning walking route took Stephanie over a wide range of challenging Scottish terrain through spectacular countryside. Along the way Stephanie shared her photos and videos featuring breathtaking views of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, Glen Coe, the Devil's Staircase and the last leg of the route up to Fort William.

Shortly before her fundraiser trek, Stephanie met with Councillor Suleman Khonat J.P, Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, caught up with BBC Radio Lancashire and featured in a number of local websites and papers, along with an appearance on the big screen in the town centre!

  

Fundraising Grand Total!

Whilst becoming a local celebrity and an inspiration to many, Stephanie has also managed to raise a staggering (drum roll please)...

£2,101 including Gift Aid!

(That's £1,601 over her orginal target of £500)!

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, your support will have a huge impact on continuing to develop our services in BwD with the money raised being invested back into our services to support those in needs.  One of the ways in which this money may be used will be towards providing a ‘discretionary fund’ that can be used to support individual’s where no other appropriate funding is available.
