We recently held two successful Safe Trader meetings here at Care Network.

They took place earlier this month at:

  • 7.30am on Tuesday 5th November at Care Network Hub – serving bacon butties and brews!
  • 5.00pm on Wednesday 6th November at Blackburn Central Library – serving cheese pie and gravy or chilli.

It was an excellent opportunity for all our staff to meet our Safe Traders - a chance to put names to faces and hear how we had done over the previous year.

We discussed our annual performance, our feedback and our plans for the future. We also had a guest speaker, Vanessa Shaw from the NHS, who gave an overview of Learning Disability and Autism and how we can best support local people when undertaking work in their homes.

The graphic below highlights increases across the board from our Safe Trader Scheme during 2023 - 2024:

We're thrilled to share that based on feedback taken from our Customer Surveys over the last 3 months, we found that:

  • 93% - of customers took up the services of the provider
  • 90% - of customers were contacted within 5 working days
  • 94% - of customers felt they got value for money
  • 96% - of customers were happy with the service they received from provider
  • 98% - of customers are likely to use the service again
  • 96% - of customers would recommend the Safe Trader service to a friend

In addition to this, we found that we had a huge, positive impact for our Safe Trader customers:

  • 100% - feel safe using our services
  • 97% - feel that we helped to maintain their quality of life
  • 90% - feel we helped them to stay independent at home

Following the meetings, one of our Safe Traders said,

“The training really resonated with me. My son is autistic so I know the challenges that autistic people face. Vanessa gave us some really good tips on how to communicate with local autistic people when we visit their homes. I was amazed to learn how many people Care Network have helped over the last year and how valuable the scheme is in supporting local businesses. It's fantastic!”

We'd like to thank all of our Safe Traders for their ongoing hard work, and everyone that joined us.
