News Great News For Hear Us Heroes Great news! We are pleased to announce that Care Network has been awarded 3 year funding from the National Lottery Community Fund under the 'Reaching Communities' programme. This is an extension of our Hear Us Heroes with extra bits and pieces! The project will bring local residents together from the Learning Disability and Autism communities through offering meaningful volunteer activities for them. We will build upon our existing group activities and develop new groups and initiatives that will bring people together and help them to make friends and to act as advocates for disability locally. Through the project we want to: Foster a sense of local pride and belonging amongst the local disabled community. Build resilient, safe and healthy neighbourhoods, and making BwD a quality place that disabled people want to live in and that the wider population understands and supports. Provide meaningful volunteering activities that people enjoy and are proud to be a part of. Raise awareness of the issues affecting disabled people’s lives with the wider population. Keep an eye on our website and future monthly bulletins to find out more as the project takes shape. *Header image source: The National Lottery Community Fund
