Our services Hear Us Heroes June Notes From Hear Us Heroes HEAR US HEROES Wednesday 3rd June 2026 | Meeting Notes đϏâī¸đϏâī¸ đ Wednesday 3rd June đĨ Our Meeting đ 57 people came to the meeting đ Welcome Victoria Braithwaite welcomed everyone. đ She asked if people knew what week it was. đ It was Volunteer Week 2026. đ Thank You Volunteers Victoria said Care Network has lots of volunteers: â Hear Us Heroes Steering Group â Mystery Shopping Group â Library Groups. đ One volunteer has helped for over 12 years and comes every day. đ Certificates were given to volunteers to say thank you. đĄ New Ideas Victoria asked people to: â Share new ideasâ Get involvedâ Join the Mystery Shopping Project đĒ Gentle Exercises đ Linda Preston came to the meeting. đĒ She showed gentle seated exercises. đ Everyone enjoyed taking part. đ Partnership Boards Victoria talked about: đ§Š Learning Disability and Autism Partnership Boards People looked at the “Terms of Reference”. â People did not understand this name. đ One new idea for the name was: âĄī¸ “Actions and Outcomes” Victoria asked people to think of more ideas, she would like the name changed. đĨ Sub Groups Victoria said there are 3 Sub Groups: đĄī¸ Being Safe â¤ī¸ Staying Healthy đĄ Living Well đŖī¸ Hear Us Heroes can help by sharing people’s voices and concerns. Victoria asked if people would like to be involved, have their voices heard and change things to let us know. The Sub Groups and Hear Us Heroes groups will feed back to the Partnership Boards. Victoria asked if they thought this would work. People said this was a good idea and would work. đ đ Transport Problems Victoria asked people to speak up about problems with: đ Buses đ Trains đ Taxis These issues can then be shared with the Boards. đ Taxi Driver Training Philomena Strickland talked about taxi driver training. Taxi drivers should: â Support disabled people â Support people with Learning Disabilities and Autism â Allow assistance dogs đđĻē Taxi drivers cannot refuse assistance dogs. Philomena explained different taxis: đ Hackney Carriages đ Private Hire đą Uber đ The Mystery Shopping group hopes to do mystery shopping with taxis. đđ People also said buses and trains should be mystery shopped too. đ Spring Into Action Victoria welcomed: đ Samantha Nottđ Jack Murphy Samantha works for Spring into Action and Jack is a fabulous volunteer. They organise: đĩ Social events đ¤ Friendship clubs â¤ī¸ Dating events đ Jack’s Volunteer Role Samantha said Jack is a fantastic volunteer. Jack helps with: đą Social media đī¸ Admin work đ Events đ He does an amazing job. đ¤ Open Mic Event - Spring Into Action đļ The next Open Mic Night is: đ Wednesday 10th June đ Alta in Whalley đ˛ New Blackburn Event Spring into Action want to start a new event in Blackburn. đ Board Games at the new Board Game Café. đ˛ Board games đ Food đ Social time â What Stops People Going Out?
