Healthy Homes

Healthy Homes

There is a lot you can do to make your home a better place in which to live, particularly if your needs or lifestyle has changed. Taking action sooner to make changes can keep you doing all the normal things you enjoy doing in your daily life.

Through our Healthy Homes project, Care Network offers expert knowledge, advice and support to help you to achieve a warm, safe, hazard-free and energy-efficient home.

Help to achieve your own healthy home...

We can visit you at home and help you to identify potential hazards in your home and provide advice on how to address these.  Our friendly staff have “trusted assessor” accreditation and have a wealth of knowledge on local services.

Call us on 01254 507255 (option 1) or get in touch using the contact form here

We can arrange a home visit and give you advice and guidance on:

  • Your general health and wellbeing
  • The condition of your property
  • How to stay warm at home
  • Keeping your home secure
  • Fire safety
  • Your mobility around your home
  • Your general safety
  • Outdoor areas
  • Signposts and referrals to other services who can offer support

What are trusted assessors?

Care Network’s Trusted Assessors can identify, safety issues and what equipment to use to make moving around the home easier and safer e.g. chair raisers, bed raisers and rails, toilet equipment and rails, banisters and outdoor rails and household equipment.

We can help to identify solutions to make your home a better environment for your continued health and wellbeing.

Will a Healthy Homes visit cost me any money?

We will help you to identify free support and services wherever possible to help you to achieve a healthy home environment.

Some of the solutions that may be identified during a visit may incur costs, this will vary and is dependent on each individual visit and the needs identified for your home.

You will have full access to our safe trader scheme which offers free no obligation quotes for your consideration.

We can also check whether you are entitled to any financial help (for example money to help you repair or maintain your home, grants available for heating and accessing charitable funds).
