CANW’s Young Carers service provides help and support to young people aged between 5+ who are carrying the care burden at home. A Young Carers may be looking after parents or siblings by helping them cope with illness, mental health issues, or even substance abuse problems.

The overarching aim of the service is to look at ways of reducing the young person’s caring role by offering timely support (in the form of 1:1s/respite, etc), signposting families to services, before moving the young person on to other services and activities available to them.
